Inclusiveness

An inclusive workplace goes beyond gender and ethnicity, we also look at it in terms of generations, sexual orientation, family status, physical or mental abilities, learning styles, thinking styles, etc.

Often when people think about diversity and inclusion they think it’s about quotas, but to Xerox it goes beyond the numbers. It’s about how we leverage the talents, innovation, and creativity of our workforce.

Tips and Application Process

The job search process can be intimidating and complicated as a recent grad. Be sure to present your skills and experience as best as possible to ensure that you stand out. Check out Xerox’s tips and application process to help you understand how to get an interview and ace it!

Quick Tips

The Resume:

  1. Provide contact information (i.e. first name, last name, email, phone number).
  2. State your objective.
  3. Read the job description and qualifications for the job and match them to your strengths.
  4. Check and double check: grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  5. Be clear and concise.

The Interview:

  1. Prepare! Learn about the organization.
  2. Think of some questions you would like to ask at the interview.
  3. Practice answering common interview questions.

Behavioural Interviews

The best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour. At Xerox, we use behavioural interviews so candidates can demonstrate how their past experience relates to the position they are applying to.

It’s important in this type of interview to provide as much detail as possible. To showcase your skills and back-up your claims use the “STAR” format when answering behavioural questions:

S – Situation – name the situation you have faced or are facing in the example
T – Task – the task that you had to complete as part of the situation
A – Action – the actions that you took to accomplish your goals
R – Results – the results of your actions

In order to stand out in a behavioural interview prepare several answers in STAR format before-hand. This way you will be able to tell a story and convey a strong message at the same time.
